Tennessee Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey is leaving state government next month. Governor Bill Lee will name a successor in the coming weeks. Piercey’s departure is effective May 31st. The 44 year old Piercey says among her reasons for leaving is to spend more time with family.

16 people have been indicted after a 6-month-long investigation in Eastern Tennessee that stretched into North Georgia into a major methamphetamine ring that is now referred to as the “Propane Cowboys.” Authorities seized about 17 pounds of methamphetamine, along with cocaine, Xanax and hydrocodone. Four suspects remain at large.
