Emergency responders were called to assist an elderly hiker on the Appalachian Trail, but the hiker had moved on before they arrived. The 82-year-old man, found dehydrated and confused, was given food and water by fellow hikers at the Spring Mountain shelter. Despite efforts from rescue squads and law enforcement, the man couldn’t be located after he continued up the trail.
