Dairy Cattle Restrictions Due To Avian Influenza

In response to the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in dairy cattle across four states, Tennessee’s State Veterinarian has enacted movement restrictions on dairy cattle entering the state from affected areas. With confirmed cases in Texas, Kansas, Michigan, and New Mexico, precautionary measures are being taken to safeguard Tennessee’s dairy industry. While there have been no detections of HPAI in Tennessee’s cattle, producers are urged to practice strict biosecurity protocols.
