Speed Enforcement Targeted

In Tusculum, the Board of Mayor and Commissioners will meet Thursday with a third-party provider to learn more about a photo speed enforcement program that if enacted, would cover public school speed zones in the city. The whole thing comes about as city officials say there are more speeders out there now, and the speeds are becoming excessive. It is especially problematic around school zones where complaints of speeding are increasing. The Tusculum Police Department wrote 956 traffic citations in 2022. Of that total, 712 were speeding citations.
