Telford Man Arrested After Domestic Incident Leads To Barn Fire

A man from Telford was arrested and is now facing charges including animal cruelty after a barn fire Thursday afternoon. Washington County Tennessee Sheriff Keith Sexton says officers responded to a fully engulfed barn fire on Rauhof Road in Telford Thursday afternoon, where they soon learned that a woman living there had been involved in some sort of a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, which led to him to set the fire. Officers searched the area, and it didn’t take them long to find the guy… 42 year old Brooks Ellis was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, arson and two counts of animal cruelty. The woman suffered only minor injuries. Deputies were able to rescue two dogs that were chained in the burning barn. Ellis is now being held behind bars, with bond set at $60,000.
