Johnson City & Police Chief Named In Federal Suit

The city of Johnson City along with Police Chief Karl Turner are now named in a federal lawsuit alleging that Turner fired a federal prosecutor last year after she pressed the department to investigate a string of suspected rapes tied to a Johnson City business owner. Kateri Dahl was building a possible drug trafficking case against a suspect known as “Robert Voe” and had gathered substantial evidence that Voe was not only dealing drugs, but was also raping women. Dahl is seeking court and attorney costs and unspecified punitive and compensatory damages for a federal due process violation and for “retaliatory discharge” under the Tennessee Public Protection Act.
