New Scam Making The Rounds Locally

A Greeneville woman fell victim to a scam last Friday after receiving a fraudulent call from someone posing as an Eastman Credit Union representative. The caller, who had access to her bank details, instructed her to log into her account for assistance. Shortly after that, her account was emptied of $1,355, which was used for eBay purchases. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, but no suspects have yet been identified.
