State Jobless Rate Holds Steady

Tennessee’s unemployment rate held steady at a historic low of 3.0 percent in June, according to the state Department of Labor & Workforce Development. This marks the second consecutive month at this record low, first reached in May. Employers contributed 400 new nonfarm jobs between May and June. In contrast, the national unemployment rate rose slightly to 4.1 percent from 4.0 percent in May. County-specific unemployment data for June will be available next week.
