U.S. News and World Report has released its annual rankings of the best hospitals in the country, with UT Medical in Knoxville the 5th best in the state, and was high performing in 14 procedures and conditions. Covenant Health Parkwest, also in Knoxville, was 8th and Holston Valley in Kingsport 9th in Tennessee. Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville topped the statewide list. None of the Greeneville area hospitals were listed in the top 20, but Unicoi County received a 5 out of 5 for patient experience and Tennova Newport a 3 out of 5.
