Storm Damaged Access Areas Reopened

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has reopened two access areas on the Nolichucky River in Greene County that were damaged by Hurricane Helene. Poplar Springs and Joe Johnson Access Areas at Bird’s Bridge were closed following the flooding in September but are now restored for public use. Boaters are reminded to exercise caution due to potential debris and changing river conditions. The Rankin Access Area on the French Broad River remains closed and is expected to reopen in the spring.
