The Tennessee Department of Transportation will halt all highway construction during the holiday travel period to ease congestion. Starting at 11:59 p.m. on December 23 and lasting through January 1, no lane closures will occur on interstates and state routes. TDOT officials expect around 2.7 million Tennesseans to travel, with most driving.
