A 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit just south of Maryville Saturday morning, shaking much of East Tennessee and reaching into North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at a depth of 16 miles near Greenback, with no reports of major damage. The tremor was reportedly one of the strongest in the region since 1950.
