2025-05-02 – Real Id Deadline Is Wednesday, May 7

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s now here. Starting  Wednesday, you’ll need a REAL ID or valid alternative to board domestic flights or enter federal buildings. Greene County Clerk Lori Bryant says demand is up, but REAL IDs can still be issued after the deadline. Apply at local driver services offices.

State Representative David Hawk says he’ll run for reelection in 2026. Hawk made the announcement at Monday night’s Greene County Republican Party meeting, where he was guest speaker. He’s currently serving his 12th term and is the longest-tenured Republican in the Tennessee House. Hawk also spoke about the recent legislative session.

2025-05-07 – 2 Women Arrested For Bath And Bodyworks Thefts

Two Knoxville women are facing charges after police say they stole thousands in merchandise from the Bath & Body Works in Greeneville Commons. Tamysja Payne and Laquazja Brown were arrested weeks apart and are accused of grabbing over $4,000 in products during two February thefts. Both are due in court today.

Greeneville Community Hospital is getting a $150,000 upgrade. Ballad Health says renovations will modernize the main lobby and add a new surgical waiting area.
