For what will be the 28th year it has been held, the Greene County Partnership’s annual Iris Festival returns this weekend. This Saturday and Sunday, the popular community event is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the streets of downtown Greeneville for a fun filled weekend including arts & crafts, entertainment and activities for all ages. Of course, there will also be food vendors offering something to tempt every visitor. Things like fresh homemade doughnuts, Egyptian cuisine, bloomin’ onions and spiral spuds. There will also be traditional favorites like cotton candy, ice cream, fruit kabobs, fresh-squeezed lemonade and snow cones. Lots of top notch musical entertainment will be offered, and something new this year too… axe throwing. There will also be the 3rd Annual Keep Greene Beautiful Iris Festival Walk and the 8th Annual Sundown on Depot car show. For full details, visit www.greenevilleirisfestival.com
