In Johnson City, an accidental sprinkler discharge damaged the Sevier Center’s newly renovated elevator… along with some of the apartments there. It happened when the system was being serviced, and a pipe was accidentally dislodged, causing the fire pump to be activated, which then caused the water to flow at full pressure from the top of the 11 story building all the way to the ground floor. Both of the building’s elevators were damaged. One of them was rendered completely out of service. Some of the water also leaked into some residents’ apartments.
