If you enjoy the fall foliage, this year should be one you will remember. According to the experts at East Tennessee State University, we can expect a spectacular show from mother nature this fall in the Appalachian Highlands… thanks in large part to ample rainfall this summer. The cooler temperatures over the last couple of weeks combined with the sunny weather according to those in the know, should make for a spectacular showing of fall color across our region. Some of it is already showing in the tallest peaks of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In the mountains of East Tennessee, Western North Carolina and Southwest Virginia, the leaves are expected to reach their peak the first week of October.
