A tractor trailer was cut in half when it was struck by a Norfolk Southern train Monday morning off Snapps Ferry Road. The driver, who was not injured, said the collision occurred as he turned onto Coile Street, where the crossing lights appeared to be working. The impact severed the trailer, leaving the cab on one side of the tracks and the rear of the trailer on the other. The accident caused a temporary blockage of nearby crossings while wreckage was cleared. The train, which was over a mile long, continued its journey after the collision.
