A debris dump site for Greene County residents impacted by Tropical Storm Helene is nearing completion. Engineers from the Tennessee National Guard’s Joint Task Force Castle are finalizing road construction at the site near the old Tobacco Experiment Station on Old Asheville Highway. Once inspected and permitted by FEMA, this area will allow residents and cleanup crews to dispose of storm debris, including downed trees, trash, and hazardous materials.
