A fire in a Greeneville apartment was quickly contained by local firefighters Wednesday afternoon. The blaze, which started in an upstairs bathroom, is believed to have been caused by a hair dryer. No injuries were reported and there was no damage to neighboring units.

Helicopter Crashes Near Greene/Washington County Line
A helicopter crash near the Greene/Washington County line proved lucky for the pilot, who escaped with only minor injuries. The crash occurred just off Old Ducktown Road. The helicopter was conducting flight training at the time. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
