Waterfowl Quota Hunt Applications Open Wednesday
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will accept applications for early-season waterfowl quota hunts from Wednesday through October 13. Applicants must be at least 16 and may apply online, through the TWRA mobile app, at a regional office or through a license agent. Mailed applications will not be accepted.

Volunteer firefighter Josh Ball was hospitalized after suffering smoke inhalation while battling a Friday night fire on Warrensburg Road. Officials say lightning ignited an outbuilding before shifting winds pushed heavy smoke toward Ball. He was reported in good condition and expected to be released Sunday.

A Chuckey woman faces several charges after Greeneville police say she refused to stop Saturday night. Officers say April Kessler drove through a yard before stopping and showed signs of impairment.
