Human Remains Found Near Jackson Island
Human remains believed to be those of a Hurricane Helene victim have been found near Jackson Island in Washington County. The remains were taken to East Tennessee State University for identification. Nancy Tucker is the only local resident still missing from the storm, but officials say they will not assume an identity.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing reported Thursday night on Holiday Hills Road near Kingsport. Deputies found a man who had been stabbed several times after refusing to surrender his vehicle keys. His injuries were not life-threatening. The bearded suspect reportedly fled in an SUV.

Mt. Juliet police arrested a 44 year old Chuckey man wanted in Greene County for a probation violation. Police say he briefly tried to escape and was carrying more than 70 grams of fentanyl, 40 grams of methamphetamine and eight grams of crack cocaine.
