Greeneville Police Chief Reviews Electric Bike Laws
Greeneville Police Chief Josh Pierce says public concerns about electric bikes have declined since officers began educating students and parents about new state laws. Pierce told the City Council that golf carts and four-wheelers must also be street legal, registered and operated by licensed drivers.

Dozens gathered at the Greeneville-Greene County Library Tuesday to celebrate Dolly Parton’s life and literacy work. Children received free books and attended story time. More than 3,000 Greene County children receive a free monthly book through Parton’s Imagination Library from birth until age 5.

Greeneville police are investigating two weekend incidents. Jonah French of Dandridge faces assault and vandalism charges after allegedly punching a hospital security officer. Police are also looking for a driver accused of following another man into the Walmart parking lot, blocking his vehicle and punching him in the face.
