Tennessee Unemployment Rate Hits Two-Year Low
Tennessee’s unemployment rate fell to three-point-four percent in July, its lowest level in two years. The rate was three-point-five percent in June and remains below the national rate of four-point-one percent. County unemployment figures will be released next week.

Greeneville Middle School was evacuated Thursday morning after a small flash fire occurred while maintenance workers repaired an HVAC unit. The fire was out before firefighters arrived. One employee was treated for minor injuries. Firefighters cleared the building, allowing students and staff to return.
