Brad Peters Named Greene County’s First Engineer
Brad Peters has been named Greene County’s first staff engineer. Peters will lead the newly reorganized Department of Engineering and Building Services. His position will be fully funded for five years through a federal grant from the U.S. Forest Service.

47 year old Robert Keith Jenkins of Chuckey is facing several charges after Washington County deputies say they found him with a stolen truck and 17 grams of methamphetamine. Deputies say Jenkins was also accused of shoplifting from a Highway 11-E business. He was jailed on 22 thousand dollars bond.

The Greene County Election Commission has certified results from the August 6 election, making them final. Commissioners reported no problems with the vote tally. Early voting for the November 3 election runs October 14 through October 29 at the Election Commission office. The voter registration deadline is October 5.
