Greene County Steps Up DUI Enforcement
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is increasing impaired-driving enforcement through September 7 as part of the “Booze It and Lose It” campaign. Deputies will conduct sobriety checkpoints and added patrols on county roads as part of a statewide effort to reduce alcohol-related crashes.

Emergency crews responded to a crash with reported injuries and entrapment Sunday evening near Bear Hollow Road and Knox Hollow Road in Rogersville. The Hawkins County Rescue Squad warned drivers to expect delays, while a medical helicopter was called to land at Hawkins County Airport.

A vehicle fire spread to a home in the 8600 block of Horton Highway Saturday morning. Firefighters were called around 4:45, and the highway was later shut down while crews battled the blaze. All occupants safely escaped. Several volunteer fire departments responded.

Greeneville Police made several arrests Saturday, including Daniel Cisneros for public intoxication and underage drinking after he was found passed out in a vehicle. Christian Turner, Kyle Carpenter and Jalen Ingram were also arrested for public intoxication. Ingram was additionally wanted on an active Johnson City warrant.
