Truck Heavily Damaged In Cedar Creek Road Fire

A truck was heavily damaged by fire Sunday afternoon on Cedar Creek Road. Bryson Collins told deputies the 2013 Dodge Ram caught fire while he was installing transmission mounts and tried to start it. St. James firefighters extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported. The truck was valued at 35-thousand dollars.

Greene County Fire Victim Identified

Authorities have identified 42 year old Tess Grizzle-Ramsey as the victim of a deadly Greene County house fire. The fire broke out July 20 on West Pines Road. Her body was found in the debris. The sheriff’s department and TBI are investigating the cause.

Two Arrested After Mustang Theft

A man and woman face charges after a 1988 Ford Mustang convertible was stolen in Greeneville. Police say security video showed Benjamin McMahan and Ashlyn Cosby taking the car. Deputies found them hours later with the Mustang on Susong Road. McMahan also had a probation violation warrant.

Greene County Early Voting More Than Doubles

Greene County recorded 4,594 early votes before voting ended Saturday, more than twice the 2022 total. Mail-in voting continues through Election Day Thursday. Polls will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at 17 precincts across the county.

I-81 Head-On Crash Sends Driver to Trauma Center

A 45 year old woman was flown to a trauma center after a head-on crash on Interstate 81 in Greene County Sunday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says her SUV crossed the median near mile marker 43 and struck a semi-truck. Charges are pending.
