Greeneville Police Name New Assistant Chief
The Greeneville Police Department has promoted Captain Eddie Key to assistant police chief. Key, a 20-year department veteran, will oversee personnel, training, budgets and policy development as the agency’s second-in-command. His promotion follows the recent appointment of Josh Pierce as Greeneville’s new police chief.

A co-owner of the now-closed Yurezz Home Center in Greeneville has been arrested in Georgia. Richard Altman was taken into custody by the Appling County Sheriff’s Office. The dealership closed abruptly after customers complained of unfinished homes and losing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Tennessee’s Attorney General has been reviewing complaints tied to the business.

Police say a pickup truck turned into the AutoZone parking lot and failed to yield, causing the motorcycle to strike the truck. The rider is in stable condition. The truck driver was cited for failure to yield.
