Self Wins Close Race For Constable Seat
A tight race decided the only contested constable seat in Greene County. Keith Self defeated incumbent Matthew Brobeck by 70 votes in the 6th District Republican primary. Six other constable candidates ran unopposed and are expected to take office without opposition in the general election.

Greene County has a new road superintendent. Mark Britton won Tuesday’s election, defeating Gary Rector by more than 2-thousand votes. Britton, a longtime highway department employee and paving supervisor, will take office as a first-time officeholder after incumbent Kevin Swatsell chose not to seek reelection.

Greene County voters have chosen a new sheriff. David Beverly defeated David Love in the Republican primary by more than 16-hundred votes. With no Democratic challenger, Beverly is set to take the office unopposed in the general election after serving as chief deputy since 2018.

Greene County leaders are moving forward with major upgrades for emergency services. The Budget and Finance Committee approved more than 531-thousand dollars in new EMS equipment, including cardiac monitors, ventilators, and portable radios, all funded through agency revenue and grants. The plan now heads to the full County Commission for final approval later this month.
