Cleanup efforts along the Nolachucky River following last September’s flooding are nearing completion. Contractors are 75-90% finished with debris removal, with an expected completion date in mid-May. So far, 1 million cubic yards of debris have been cleared in Greene County, contributing to a regional total of 3.4 million cubic yards. Cleanup will shift to chipping and mulching after debris removal.
