Greeneville Man Charged In Cold Case Murder

An arrest has been made after a long investigation into the death back in November 2021 of 20 year old Caitlin Crum. 31 year old Preston Moore has been indicted by a Greene County Grand Jury on charges including abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and failure to report a death. Greeneville Police say an investigation by detectives and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation resulted in the indictment. The young woman’s body was found on November 7, 2021, in an abandoned house on West Barton Ridge Road. Her cause of death was determined to be a drug overdose caused by fentanyl and methamphetamine. Investigators say Moore was with Crum at the time of her death, yet he failed to report her death and left her body in the vacant home. Moore was found Tuesday afternoon in Knoxville. He is now in the Greene County Detention Center on a $70,000 bond.
