Here in Tennessee, we are more than a little familiar with the dangers of severe weather. Flooding, severe storms, frigid temperatures, and yes… even tornados… can impact our weather here in Tennessee. It was back in April 2011 when a devastating series of tornadoes struck Greene County, leaving 8 people dead, many others injured, and hundreds of buildings either damaged or destroyed. An informational event is scheduled for 4 to 7pm on Friday at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Greeneville in coordination with county emergency management and the National Weather Service office in Morristown. It’s being held in conjunction with NOAA Weather Radio & Emergency Alert System Day.
