Escapees On The Loose

The big story today… 2 inmates who escaped from the recreational yard at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon, Virginia, have ties to the Ashe County area… meaning they also could be hiding out in Northeastern Tennessee. 51 year old Johnny Shane Brown is from Rogersville, Tennessee is a federal inmate, and 31 year old Albert Lee Ricketson is from Abingdon, Virginia and is a double homicide convicted murderer. Ashe County, North Carolina Sheriff B. Phil Howell says both of them have local ties, and they could be just about anywhere by now. A $10,000 reward… $5,000 for each of them… is being offered for information leading to their apprehension. Brown is a 182-pound white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall with gray hair. Ricketson is a 212-pound white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair. It is believed the two are traveling in a stolen gold-colored Cadillac SUV that has visible damage on the rear of the vehicle with Virginia license plates UDZ-6049.
