On Wednesday, one of Tennessee’s highest ranking government officials paid a visit to East Tennessee State University. Secretary of State Tre Hargett was in town, to present the university with an award for efforts in driving voter registration. It was back on September 20th, when the university marked National Voter Registration Day by encouraging all students, faculty, staff and members to register, through a series of events that were held by organizations at the university. As a result of that effort, ETSU was awarded Best Social Media Campaign for voter registration.
