Higher interest rates are here to stay – and they may even get higher before long. Those are just some of the assessments coming from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell – who warned the central bank will push rates higher than previously expected and keep them for an extended period – as part of the ongoing effort to rein in inflation….
It’s now believed that the Fed could raise rates by half of a percentage point – after several three quarters of a percentage point hikes that have already occurred earlier this year.
